Irish Film: Donal Foreman’s Out of Here exclusively @ IFI from Nov 7th

Donal Foreman’s award winning vision of Dublin’s youth, Out of Here, starring Fionn Walton (What Richard Did), Aoife Duffin (Moone Boy)  and Annabell Rickerby (Get Up and Go) comes to the IFI for an exclusive theatrical release from the 7th November.

There’s been real excitement surrounding Out of Here since it debuted at the Galway Film Fleadh in 2013 with director Donal Foreman winning this year’s CineTALENT award at this year’s JDIFF. Donal Foreman and members of the cast will take part in an Opening Night Q&A after the 18.30 screening on 7th November.

College dropout Ciaran (Fionn Walton) returns from Asia and, over the course of a week, reintroduces himself to friends, family, and the Dublin city he left behind. Uncomfortable living at home with his parents, new flame Melissa (Aoife Duffin) offers excitement, but his true hope is to reconnect with ex-girlfriend Jess (Annabell Rickerby).

The focus is on small, human details: how Ciaran relates to his friends, to his unemployed father, to Dublin’s familiar and unfamiliar landmarks – north-side beaches, city playgrounds, south-side house parties. Already an experienced shorts filmmaker, Foreman’s talent is unmistakable here, as he patiently builds a rare and exceptionally true-to-life portrait of what it is to be young, educated and aimless in Ireland today.

There’s also a chance to see some of Foreman’s accomplished short films that stylistically and thematically foreshadow Out of Here on Monday 10th November 18.30. Foreman will present four short films and discuss them with Michael Ryan of the IFI.

Out of Here is released at the IFI from the 7th November.

Donal Foreman and members of the cast will take part in a post-Opening Night Q&A at the IFI after the 18.30 screening on the 7th November.

Tickets for Out of Here at the IFI will be on sale from the IFI Box Office on the 29th October 2014.
