Irish Film: Irish co-production Ooops! Noah Is Gone… secures international distribution

The Irish Film Board funded 3D animated feature Ooops! Noah Is Gone… has been sold to a number of international distributors, including Entertainment One (eOne) who have picked up the Irish and UK distribution rights.

The film centres on a fictional species known as Nestrians who after being denied space on Noah’s ark sneak onboard with some help. When two of the kids fall overboard they must learn to fend for themselves, while their parents frantically search for them.

Irish talent is represented throughout with music from Stephen McKeon, co-written by Richie Conroy, and featuring the voices of Paul Tylak, Patrick Fitzsymons, Alan Stanford, Dermot Magennis, Aileen Mythen, Ava Connolly, Callum Maloney, and Tara Flynn.

Ulysses Filmproduktion and Moetion Films, makers of animated hit Niko, created the film, with co-production and funding coming from Fabrique d’Images, Grid Animation, supported by Filmfund Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein, DFFF, FFA, Filmfund Luxembourg, Screenflanders, MEDIA i2i audiovisual, MEDIA development, and The Irish Film Board.

German sales company Global Screen has sold the film to distributors across the globe ahead of next months European Film Market. In addition to the Irish and UK rights, eOne acquired distribution for the U.S., Canada, and Australia/New Zealand, with Eagle Pictures taking Italy, and Scanbox the Scandinavian territories.

Other buyers include Flame Node (China), 2i Film (Balkan region), Pictureworks (India), and Silverbird (African region).

Last year, Global Screen sold the film to distributors in Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, South Korea, Poland, Portugal, Israel, Latin America, the Middle East , Turkey, Bulgaria, Iran, and Indonesia.
