Irish Film: Beautiful short The Nymph to premiere @ OIC Media evening

On Monday, January 26th OIC Media will celebrate two years of highlighting the best in Irish short film with an evening of short films at The Light House Cinema, Dublin. All proceeds from this and all OIC Media events will be donated to The Capuchin Day Centre, Bow St, Dublin 7.

One of the films being shown on the night will be the premiere of Damian Byrne’s extraordinary looking fairytale The Nymph. The film tells the story of a forest Nymph, a guardian of the forest, who is visited by a hunter one night.

Filmed at Blarney Castle and in the Hellfire Club in Dublin, The Nymph was produced with the aid of a successful crowdfunding campaign early last year. Director Byrne is currently employed as a graphic artist on TV show Ripper St and his artistic sensibility is clearly present in the short film.

The film stars ballet performers Anna Ilaya Ozolina and Martin Galligan.

OIC Media is the brain child of Irish short filmmakers Gerard Walsh and James Fitzgerald. The pair are responsible for some of the most promising low-budget indie shorts and films of the last few years, including A Day Like Today and the multi-award winning Skunky Dog.

Doors for the OIC Media Shorts anniversary night open around 7:30pm, with the event starting around 8:30pm. The Nymph will be the last film of the evening.
