#IrishFilm: Ivan Kavanagh’s Never Grow Old sells to multiple international territories at EFM

ScreenDaily is reporting that Ivan Kavanagh’s Irish Western Never Grow Old has sold to a number of international territories, including to the U.K. with Altitude Film Distribution.

Set in the harsh American frontier landscape of 1849 Never Grow Old is about greed and its consequences. It is a Faustian tale of outsider Patrick Tate who lives with his young family on the outskirts of a relatively peaceful frontier town until outlaws take over and kill all those who challenge them. Patrick plays a dangerous game befriending and profiting from the outlaws mayhem and it is only a matter of time before he must protect his own from the bloodshed.

The film stars John Cusack, Emile Hirsch, Déborah François, Antonia Campbell-Hughes, and Danny Webb. The film is written and directed by Ivan Kavanagh, who last gave us the eerie horror The Canal in 2014.

Never Grow Old is produced by Jacqueline Kerrin, Marie-Claire Kerrin and Dominic Wright for Irish-based Ripple World Pictures, Nicolas Steil of Luxembourg’s Iris Productions, and Jean-Michel Rey of France’s Rezo Productions. The film was developed with the assistance of Screen Ireland, Creative Europe MEDIA, Quickfire Films, and the Luxembourg Film Fund.

London-based sales agent Metro International is screening the film at the European Film Market in Berlin this week. In addition to the U.K., deals have been struck with Village Roadshow for Australia and New Zealand, and Phoenicia Pictures International for the Middle East. Rezo Films will release in French-speaking territories. U.S. rights had previously been sold to Saban Films, who will release theatrically on March 15th.
