Irish Film: Brian O'Malley's Let Us Prey secures US distribution

Deadline has exclusively revealed that MPI Media Group’s Dark Sky Films banner has picked up U.S. rights to Let Us Prey, from Irish director Brian O’Malley. The film marks the feature debut of O’Malley, who previously worked on TV commercials.

The film, which is an Irish/Scottish co-production, tells the story of a rookie police officer who must deal with all hell breaking loose on her first nightshift in a backwater town.

Pollyanna McIntosh, last seen in the great Love Eternal, plays the lead, alongside Game Of Thrones star Liam Cunningham, Hanna Stanbridge (Outcast), and Bryan Larkin (Outlander).

Let Us Prey played Cannes and the European horror circuit, winning the Méliès d’Argent award for Best European Fantastic Film at the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival, before making its U.S. debut last weekend at Fantastic Fest in Austin.

Speaking on the capture MPI’s Greg Newman said
Director Brian O’Malley instantly proves that he is a new director to watch. Solid performances from fan favorites Pollyanna McIntosh and Liam Cunningham should cement Let Us Prey as a worthy entry in the exciting new wave of Irish horror.
Let Us Prey will likely be out in Ireland and the US early next year.

Rachel, a rookie cop, is about to begin her first nightshift in a neglected police station in a backwater town.   The kind of place where the tide has gone out and stranded a motley bunch of the aimless, the forgotten, the bitter-and-twisted who all think that, really, they deserve to be somewhere else.  They all think they’re there by accident and that, with a little luck, life is going to get better.   Wrong, on both counts.  Six is about to arrive – and All Hell Will Break Loose!
