Landlords Gone Bad -The Movie

#IrishFilm: Free Screening of Landlords Gone Bad -The Movie at IFI, April 11th

You think your landlord is bad? Wait till you see these guys! New Irish film Landlords Gone Bad -The Movie will have a FREE screening at the Irish Film Institute on April 11th at 7:30 pm.

With such a current topic the Irish press is never short of articles about real-life ‘bad landlords’.  This month the Green Party councillors found 69% of inspected properties failed to meet standards in Ireland. There were landlords facing jail and fines of €1m due to property overcrowding. Landlords Gone Bad -The Movie gives viewers a humorous insight to the property chaos in Dublin.

Lead actor and screenwriter Gerard Daly AKA Stanley Meltdown, originally from Ballyfermot, was inspired from his experience working in the property market for 30 years. Daly has based the film upon some of the many events he experienced. The film also features actors Aidan O’Sullivan, Dani Masterson, Klara Mc Donnell, and Maria Fiorentini. Mattress Mick also appears in a cameo.

Daly reveals that he has plenty of “crazy” stories from his rental experience in Ireland:

The two women known as the Scissor Sisters for kiiling a man; they used to sit outside the house I took care of in Ballybough.

I have accumulated over twenty-five years of experience in the rental market in Ireland, from being involved in property. I have seen it all but my passion has always been writing songs, poems, stories, singing, acting in plays and now in film…
