Juliette Bonass is Ireland’s ‘Producer on the Move’ at Cannes 2015

Up-and-coming Irish producer Juliette Bonass has been chosen as one of 20 film producers for the highly competitive European Film Promotion’s (EFP) Producers on the Move programme at next month’s Cannes Film Festival.

In addition to short films including Noreen and What Will Survive of Us, Juliette has recently produced Glassland which was released to critical acclaim on April 17th, and Get Up & Go which will be released on May 1st. Juliette is also producing with Ed Guiney of Element Pictures the upcoming feature A Date for Mad Mary, which is directed by Darren Thornton and funded by Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board.

Now in its 16th year, the four-day Producers on the Move event runs from May 15 – 18 and receives financial support from the Creative Europe – MEDIA Programme of the European Union and the participating EFP member organisations. Each year, Producers on the Move results in several international co-productions and raises the profile of the participating producers in Cannes.

The schedule of Producers on the Move 2015 includes working sessions such as one-to-one speed-dating meetings and various opportunities to exchange knowledge and follow up ideas about future projects. EFP will again be teaming up with the pan-European co-production fund Eurimages for a case study.

Previous Irish Producers on the Move include John Keville (You’re Ugly Too, Brand New U), Rebecca O’Flanagan (The Stag, My Brothers), Conor Barry (Savage, Love Eternal), Morgan Bushe (Colony, The Other Side of Sleep, The Last Days of Peter Bergmann), Katie Holly (Sensation, One Hundred Mornings, Citadel) and Andrew Freedman (His & Hers, The Herd, Return to Roscoff).
