Looking for a different kind of film event in Dublin this week? Well you’re in luck as on Thursday, July 9th at 7pm in Filmbase there’s Superman Lives Live.
The event is a live reading of Kevin Smith’s controversial unproduced screenplay from the nineties. Famously this unproduced film was to be directed by Tim Burton, starring Nicolas Cage as the Man of Steel. If made, this would’ve been the biggest film of all time (at the time). But alas, it never saw the light of day…
The event will have 8 actors on stage performing the actual screenplay live in front of an audience.
Entry is ticketed, but free and it’s a BYOB event. As an added bonus the first 20 people get a free beer. Money will be raised on the night for the charity The Friends Of Saint Marys.
The cast list for the live read is:
Superman – Donagh Humphreys
Lex Luthor – Morgan C. Jones
Lois Lane – Donna Nikolaisen
Brainiac – Ian Meehan
Jimmy Olsen – Aidan Lawlor
Eradicator – David O’Neill
Misty – Muirrean Darcy
Shuster – Eoin Leahy
Narrator – Liam Cooney
The event is being organised by the Storybreakers podcast and Filmbase. More information can be found on the EventBrite page, where tickets can be booked, and on Facebook.
