Sky Road TV & Film Festival is an exciting new three-day event which takes place this September 5th – 7th at the Station House Theatre, in Clifden, Co Galway. Perfectly placed in September for autumn and winter releases, the festival aims to shine a spotlight on the best of Irish Film, Television and New Media.
Festival chairman Eamonn Ó Cualáin commented, We are delighted to announce details of the inaugural Sky Road TV and Film Festival! Our aim is to give Irish filmmakers a better opportunity to screen their content at festival level. If you have a new documentary or film in post production, Sky Road is the festival to screen it.”
The festival will work closely with producers and broadcasters to bring the latest content in Irish cinema and television, in both Irish & English language to the programme. The goal is to engage with filmmakers by providing a platform for discussion regarding media, trends and finance options available.

- Best Documentary Series
New Media (Media filmed on a smart device)
- 10 second short: shot and edited on Mobile under 10 seconds
- 1 minute short: shot and edited on mobile under 1 minute
- 3 minute short: shot and edited on mobile under 3 minutes
For those seeking a career in the industry, or with an interest in TV and film production, the festival will run practical workshops in Animation, Cinematography, Acting and Video Editing. They would like to call on local community groups, schools and third level colleges to get in touch and become involved with the festival.
Sky Road hope to stimulate the development of best international practice in documentary, formats and co-productions by providing a forum for screenings, discussions and master classes. They will also screen a range of local interest films.
