The Japanese Film Festival and Light House Cinema are set to present Anime House, a special programme of the best and brightest Japanese animated releases on the big screen, to Dublin audiences.
Japanese anime titles, particularly the films of Studio Ghibli, have always been popular in Ireland, but as a new generation of film-makers transforms the genre, the industry has been undergoing something of a boom in recent times.
As evidenced from the recent success of anime titles including A Silent Voice, In this Corner of the World and the hugely successful Your Name, the appetite for audiences to see anime on the big screen is unquestionable.
Screening in Dublin from August 16th to December 6th, Anime House will showcase the quality and diversity of films currently on release from a range of Japanese anime film-makers and ensure that Irish audiences can experience the most acclaimed anime titles in the cinema.
