Amharc Éireann: Eagrán 42 features the Industrial Parades of St Patrick’s Day in 1960 and a visit to the Kennel Club Dog Show, the only place in Dublin where drink was available! Songs of the Irish is a musical tableau of Irish-American entertainers intercut with footage of a New York St Patrick’s Day Parade in 1946, while Shamus tells the quirky tale of an orphan boy from Belfast who grows a monkey tail when he steals a pot of gold belonging to an evil leprechaun.

The IFI Family screening on March 25th at 11.00 brings Irish director Lisa Mulcahy’s The Legend of Longwood back to the big screen. This modern-day fairytale centres around 12-year-old Mickey, an American girl, who moves to Ireland and must redeem a ghostly black knight to free a small Irish town from an ancient curse.
