Festival: Gia Copolla's Palo Alto to open Fingal Film Festival

Following a hectic year planning this year’s festival programme, Fingal Film Festival has announced the opening film will be the Irish première of Palo Alto from debut writer-director Gia Copolla, starring James Franco and Emma Roberts, with thanks to Metrodome Distribution.

Shy, sensitive April (Emma Roberts) is the class virgin, torn between an illicit flirtation with her soccer coach Mr. B (James Franco) and an unrequited crush on sweet stoner Teddy (Jack Kilmer). Emily (Zoe Levin), meanwhile, offers sexual favours to every boy to cross her path. An unflinching portrait of adolescent lust, boredom, and self-destruction, Palo Alto is an astonishing debut feature from writer-director Gia Coppola, based on the book “Palo Alto: Stories” by James Franco. (Over 15s)

Final selection of the festival programme will be announced next week, with some of the best independent films of 2014 from Ireland and abroad taking centre stage over the three day event. This event will be a must see for cinephiles!
