Brad Bird Weekend at Light House Cinema

#Event: Brad Bird Weekend celebration at Light House and Pálás, June 22-24

In anticipation of the release of Pixar’s The Incredibles 2, Light House Cinema in Dublin and Pálás in Galway are hosting a mini celebration of the work of writer/director Brad Bird. One of the greatest innovators and storytellers in the history of animation, from his work on The Simpsons to his writing and directing work with Pixar, Brad Bird has been at the forefront of animation for the past 30 years.

The two cinemas are bringing back three of their favourite Brad Bird films, The Incredibles, Ratatouille and The Iron Giant.

The Iron Giant – June 22nd, 3.00pm & 8.30pm

A young boy befriends a giant robot from outer space and must stand against those who seek to destroy it. Undeniably one of the most beautiful, soulful animations of our time, Brad Bird’s adaptation of Ted Hughes’ sci-fi novel is an absolute classic and we are proud to be returning it to the big screen where it belongs.

The Incredibles – June 23rd – 3.00pm

One of our absolute favourite Pixar films, The Incredibles, written and directed by Brad Bird, follows a family with very special powers who find it difficult to find the balance between domestic life and saving the world. Revisit the first, brilliant film on the big screen on 23rd June for one day only before the sequel arrived on 13th July.

Ratatouille – June 24th – 3.00pm

A film for foodies! Ratatouille follows a rat who dreams of being a chef who befriends a kitchen worker and sets in motion an exciting culinary adventure. Ratatouille is an exquisite look at the artistry and emotional connection of cooking, while also teaching us that high art is for everyone and even the harshest critics have a soul.

Tickets for the Light House Cinema, Dublin and Pálas, Galway are available now.
