Screen Skills Ireland to Host Screen Industry Education Forum 2019

Screen Skills Ireland will host the Screen Industry Education Forum 2019 on Tuesday, November 5th.

The Forum will bring industry stakeholders, education providers & policy influencers together to focus on the skills development challenges and opportunities related to the screen sectors in Ireland.

Topics to be discussed on the day include:

The importance of investing in people and skills.The importance of focusing on quality over quantity.The need for skills development initiatives to respond to the needs of the sector in the right way.The importance of capturing the outcomes and impact of skills development and using that data to promote the sector.The importance of collaboration between industry and education.The importance of regional development.The importance of the developing skills for the future, soft skills and skills for the gig economy.The skills development models that work best for the screen sector.The importance of measuring the value of skills development.

Throughout the day there will be an opportunity for production companies and producers to undergo a Skills Audit with Regional Skills Forum Managers. The data captured during these audits will directly feed into future government education and skills policy. This will be done through an Appointments Service on a first-come-first-served basis. All other attendees on the day will have the opportunity to have their Skills Needs and other thoughts captured through round table discussions with Screen Skills Ireland staff members in the afternoon.

This event is open to those who are involved in education or production related to the Screen Sector (Film, TV, Post Production, VFX and Animation) in Ireland.

This is a free event, but registration is required and places are limited. Please register by Friday 1st November 2019 via EventBrite
