Irish Film: Alec Moore's short In This Place to premiere @ Galway Film Fleadh

One of the many great strands of the Galway Film Fleadh is the one which highlights and promotes short Irish films. One of the short films that will feature at the Fleadh is Alec Moore’s In This Place.

The film is a contemporary drama set in a small west of Ireland town, and follows Mark as he struggles to break out of his destructive lifestyle while everybody around him moves on with their lives.

Director Moore is the man responsible for the documentary Behind The Sword In The Stone, which chronicles the making of John Boorman’s Excalibur. Here he is working from a script by Love, Rosie actor Tristan Heanue. Heanue is also the lead actor, alongside Rebekah Wainwright (The Tudors, How To Be Happy) and Sean T O’Meallaigh (Jimmy’s Hall, Citizen Charlie). Kevin Minogue, who recently framed Limp is onboard as Director Of Photography.

The film was crowd funded via Fund:It and was shot on location in Connemara over 3 days in July 2013.

In This Place premières at the Galway Film Fleadh on July 11th, as part of the New Irish Shorts 4: Point of View – Our World strand.
