Irish Abroad: Lee Cronin's Ghost Train enjoying runaway international success

The good news for Irish-Finnish co-production Ghost Train, continues to roll in from around the world, with word that the film has picked up three awards at the 23rd Molins de Rei Horror Film Festival in Spain.

The film won Best Special Effects, 2nd Prize from the Jury, as well as The Melies d’Argent award for Best European Fantastic Film. The films editor Colin Campbell was on hand to receive the awards as director Lee Cronin is in Seoul, South Korea presenting the film at the Asiana International Short Film Festival.

Ghost Train has enjoyed some more success in recent weeks,picking up the Young Jury Award for Best Short Film at the San Sebastian Horror and Fantasy Film Festival in Spain.

Ghost Train has featured at more than 30 international film festivals since its premiere at Clermont-Ferrand last February. It will be calling at Leeds, Bruges, and Brest in the next few weeks, with more stops before the year’s end.
