Line-up Announced for the Real Deal Industry Conference @ Galway Film Fleadh

Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board, together with the Galway Film Fleadh, have announced the details for the 2014 Real Deal Film Conference which takes place on Thursday July 10th 2014. The theme for the 2014 edition of the conference asks ‘Where do we go from here?’

Globally the audio-visual industry is experiencing significant changes – shifts in the trends of audience content consumption, the rise of high end TV drama, the popularity of event cinema, the decline of DVD and pre-pay TV sales against the rise in VOD demand and falling production budgets are but a few.

In addition to these global changes, the Irish industry is about to enter a new era with the advent of the new tax credit and at the 2014 Real Deal, we want to take stock, discuss all of these challenges and perhaps find some solutions in a collegiate setting.

Moderated by Angus Finney – key international speakers include John Nein (Sundance Film Festival), Alex Stolz (British Film Institute) and Eamonn Bowles (Magnolia Pictures) who will give a key address on the international film landscape. We will also hear from local distributors, producers and practitioners who will discuss Irish industry trends & challenges.

The Irish Film Board are inviting strong audience participation in the event, so get in contact to book your place for the Real Deal conference by emailing marketing@irishfilmboard.ie.

Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
