Event: IFI Family Festival goes on tour with access>CINEMA

Highlights of the IFI Family Festival wil go on tour around the country in July and August in association with access>CINEMA.

The touring programme features hit German film Fiddlesticks (Age 5+), a special collection of Short Tales (Age 7+), a brand new Irish film The Legend of Longwood  (Age 9+) and a filmmaking workshop. The Festival will be heading to Dunamaise Arts Centre, Portlaoise on July 24th & 25th, The Model, Sligo on August 11th & 12th, and Riverbank Arts Centre, Newbridge on August 22nd & 23rd.

Fiddlesticks (Age 5+) features a group of youngsters who seem to live in a very ordinary town, but when they rally together to help their grandparents it turns out to be very extraordinary after all!

Short Tales (Age 7+) is the pick of worldwide short films for this age group . What happens when a magical circus comes to town? Can you remember your first day at school? Or learning to swim? What would it be like to grow up in South America? If you want to find out some answers to these questions, don’t miss Short Tales.

The Legend of Longwood (Age 9+) is a film for older children. 12-year-old Mickey Miller moves from New York to Ireland and her life is changed when myths become real. Can she, her friend Sean and Silver, a wild stallion, redeem the evil Black Knight?

In the Adventure Venture – Workshop (Age 8-12) with Createschool there’ll be a chance to learn how to storyboard, script, film, edit and produce a trailer for your own imaginary film before sharing it with your friends. Swashbuckling superhero costumes optional!
