Two TG4 commissioned programmes will feature on this year’s Galway Film Fleadh Programme. The award-winning CINE4 feature, Arracht will close the Film Fleadh programme on Sunday 12th July.  This feature film written and directed by Tom Sullivan and produced by Cúán Mac Conghail for Macalla was funded through Cine4  (TG4, the Screen Ireland, and the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland. The Tribe of Gods on Saturday July 11th is the International version of a Loic Jourdain directed feature documentary produced for TG4.  It tells the story of Patsy Dan Rodgers, the last king of Tory Island, and the island community’s efforts to secure their rights and unique way of lives.

TG4 will sponsor the Academy Award qualifying category of Best Short Documentary Film Award for 2020. TG4 recognises the role of Short Film as an exciting and innovative creative format with a huge potential to cultivate & grow new talent in the industry and we are pleased to support this important category.

TG4 is pleased to support the Galway Film Fleadh for 2020.  We hope audiences enjoy the extensive festival programme, including the TG4 screenings of Cine4: Arracht and documentary Tribe of Gods.  A priority for TG4 is to strengthen our appeal for younger audiences and also to support a new generation of content creators in the industry.  We look forward to the panel on Short-Form Content for a New Generation and hope it will inspire both established producers and emerging talent to explore opportunities creating content for this key audience.
