IFI Documentary Festival 2017, showcasing the best of Irish and international documentary filmmaking, will run this year from September 28th to October 1st.

The festival is now open for original and exciting submissions from Irish filmmakers for the 2017 edition. If your film fits the bill, now is the time to prepare your entries as submissions are open in the categories of Irish short documentaries (under 20 minutes), and Irish feature-length documentaries (over 60 minutes).

All interested filmmakers should see www.ifi.ie/docfest/submissions for the complete set of eligibility guidelines. The deadline for submissions is 6pm on Wednesday, June 21st 2017.

Since 2001, the IFI Documentary Festival has hosted premieres of important Irish documentaries including In a House that Ceased to Be, War in Eastern Congo, How to Defuse a Bomb: The Project Children Story, and Mattress Men. International hits such as A Syrian Love Story, Muscle Shoals and Werner Herzog’s Lo and Behold: Reveries of the Connected World have all had their Irish premieres at the festival, which has attracted many guests and filmmakers from around the world to present and discuss their work.
