#IrishFilm: Will Forte and Claudia O’Doherty join cast of Extra Ordinary

Deadline is reporting that U.S. actor Will Forte and Australian actress, writer, and comedian Claudia O’Doherty have joined the cast of Mike Ahern and Enda Loughman (a.k.a. Team D.A.D.D.Y.)’s new comedy Extra Ordinary.

The film tells the story of a driving instructor who must use her other-wordly gifts to save a lonely man’s daughter from a rock star looking to use her for Satanic purposes.  The project participated in the 2014 Frontieres Film Market where it won Best Pitch.

Irish comedian Maeve Higgins has the lead, with support from Barry Ward. The film is the debut feature of writer-directors Ahern and Loughman.

We are delighted we have somehow convinced an incredible group of actors and funny people we really admire, along with an amazing crew and some random folk that we just wanted to meet, to join our fever dream and make this mysterious romantic oddball ghost story love comedy adventure film. The timely script obviously hit home as it shines a light on important, serious issues like that of haunted rubbish bins in rural Ireland.
Mike Ahern and Enda Loughman, Directors

Extra Ordinary is produced by Katie Holly (Citadel, Love & Friendship), Mary McCarthy (Mr Foley, Six Shooter), Yvonne Donohoe and Ailish Bracken (The Queen of Ireland) for Blinder Films, in co-production with Umedia with funding from the Irish Film Board, UMedia and Inevitable Pictures.

We’re thrilled to be working with an incredible cast of hilarious, talented people, and to be supported by a brilliant crew.  Mike and Enda are real talents and have written a unique, madcap, hilarious and slightly appalling script and are bringing it to life with such obsessive attention to detail it’s frankly exhausting.  Truly though, we are extraordinarily proud to be producing their debut feature and we hope that audiences will fall in love with the characters and their hilarious adventures just as much as we have.

Wildcard Distribution will release the film in Ireland. Epic Pictures will attempt to sell the rest of the world rights at the forthcoming Marché at the Cannes Film Festival.

Extra Ordinary is one of the funniest scripts I have ever read and combined with the unique talents of Mike & Enda, and superb cast, we are sure the film is going to become a future Irish classic, and be loved by audiences all over the world.
