#Training: Sound Editing with Screen Training Ireland at Egg Post Production

Galway Film Centre and Screen Training Ireland are seeking participants for a Sound Editing programme, tutored by Patrick Drummond and Aza Hand. Patrick and Aza are the award-winning sound team from Egg Post Production, specializing in sound design and mixing for film. This intensive five-day course will comprise of lectures and practical work.

The programme will cover the following:

  • Overview of the post-production process and sound post-production in Film and Television
  • Role of the Assistant Sound Editor in Film and TV
  • Dialogue and effects editing
  • ADR
  • Foley
  • Mixing
  • Sound post production technical issues and editing systems management

Participant Profile:
This programme is aimed at participants who are already operating in some sector of the film sound or sound related industry and/or with a proven interest in film sound or a related sound recording area.

Tutors:
Patrick Drummond has an enormous wealth of experience in the supervision and editing of sound for film.  He has worked in Hollywood for over 25 years on big budget titles such as Dick Tracy, Boyz N The Hood and As Good As It Gets. Recent credits include Sound Supervision on The Canal by Ivan Kavanagh, Gold by Niall Heery,  I Am Not A Serial Killer by Billy O’Brien, and The Legend Of Longwood by Lisa Mulcahy.

Aza Hand has designed and mixed numerous feature films, documentaries and short films. Recent credits include The Canal by Ivan Kavanagh, I Am Not A Serial Killer by Billy O’Brien, and The Legend Of Longwood by Lisa Mulcahy.

In 2015, Aza and Patrick were nominated for an IFTA for Best Sound for The Canal.
