Screen Skills Ireland introduces Screen Talks Webinar Series

Screen Skills Ireland, the skills development unit within Screen Ireland, has announced its new Screen Talks initiative, a series of webinars delivered by industry experts on a broad array of sector-related topics.

Screen Talks will be offered free of charge and hopes to accommodate large numbers of interested attendees via an online webinar platform. These webinars aim to provide an opportunity for Irish industry professionals to listen to experts from around the world as they discuss their careers, provide advice, and offer inspiration.

The first Screen Talks webinar is scheduled to kick off at 5pm on Thursday 9th April with Ralph Eggleston, Oscar-winning art director and production designer at Pixar Animation Studios, whose credits include Toy Story, Monsters Inc., Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Ratatouille, WALL-E, Up, and Inside Out.

The first webinar will be available to view from 5pm on 9th April at this link. Further Screen Talks will be announced over the coming weeks.

This webinar series complements Screen Skills Ireland’s range of free, online courses, announced as part of Screen Ireland’s initial measures to support the Irish creative screen industries impacted by Coronavirus (COVID-19). These free online courses have been designed to provide learning opportunities for a wide range of departments across the screen sector, and cover a variety of hard, soft and technical skills. Screen Skills Ireland has consulted closely with industry, in the development of these courses to ensure that quality of content and delivery remain high, and that they retain a degree of interactivity.

Details of further free online courses can be found on the Screen Skills Ireland website and social media channels. Upcoming highlights include Virtual Classroom Essentials for the Screen Sector, Working Remotely as an Editor, Excel for the Screen Sector, and Toon Boom Animation.

Screen Talks is delivered in partnership with Animation Skillnet and Screen Skillnet.
