#Education: Cork Young Filmmakers announce Summer Film Weeks 2017

Cork Young Filmmakers has announced their Summer Film Weeks 2017, a week-long workshop for 13 to 19 year olds who are interested in any aspect of filmmaking, whether already having some experience, previously attended Cork Young Filmmakers one or two day workshops or are passionate about film and want a chance to try different roles and develop your skills.

Participants will learn and experience a wide variety of different aspects of being a filmmaker in a hands-on, fun and interactive workshop. Working alongside professional filmmakers from Cork Film Centre, over five days you will explore, learn and create short film. Filmmaking isn’t a solo activity. During Summer Film Week you’ll meet other, like-minded young people interested in filmmaking.

This summer week-long workshops will take place in four venues spread throughout County Cork, involving 84 young people.

Attendess will get to make a film and learn new skills to take home. It’s all about having fun, learning new skills, building confidence, encouraging creativity and self-expression. For many of those who participate this experience is creating pathways into college, university and the film industry. All filmmakers will have an opportunity to showcase their short films at a special Gala Film event.
