#IrishFilm: Indie dark comedy Dead Along The Way goes global on Amazon Prime

Janson Media announced today that it has acquired global VOD rights to Dead Along The Way, the award-winning Irish film written and directed by Maurice O’Carroll and co-produced by Sinéad O’ Riordan (who also stars) and Elaine O’Carroll of ORion Productions.

Dead Along The Way has been described by Irish critics as a “dead ringer for Tarantino in a good way.”  The film is a dark comedy which follows the adventures of Wacker and Tony, two hapless wedding videographers who unexpectedly find themselves dealing with a dead body, overly enthusiastic members of the law enforcement, a fertility treatment, a vengeful gangster, and of course, an imminent wedding.

The deal is a major coup for all of us as it now opens it up to the US and worldwide audiences. We have proven that there was a huge appetite here in Ireland and we are hoping it’s success will continue on a global scale.
Maurice O’Carroll, Writer/Director

Amazon Prime members are more willing than broadcast viewers or theatrical movie-goers to watch international films, and this rollicking indie crime caper is sure to find its audience on Amazon’s platforms.

The film is available for transactional purchase or rental as well in the United States and the United Kingdom.

Dead Along The Way features winning performances by Ciarán Bermingham (Game of Thrones, The Young Offenders) and Niall Murphy (Dracula Untold), the film screened in a number of festivals worldwide and didn’t disappoint when it was released in Irish cinema in March 2017, where it instantly charmed audiences and sold out every screening. It will now join a host of other hugely successful Irish films on Amazon prime, including Brooklyn, Lobster and The Young Offenders.
