MovieExtras.ie, Ireland’s premiere Extras agency are holding their annual open casting weekend on June 19th from 9:30am to 7:30pm and 20th from 10am to 5:30pm, at The Gresham Hotel.

The company are extremely pleased to announce that they are on board for Ripper Street Season 4, which begins filming from July until April 2016. This production alongside other TV programmes, films and adverts, will produce thousands of opportunities for Movie Extra members.

Currently MovieExtras.ie are also working with high profile productions including RTE’s historical 1916 drama Rebellion starring Brendan Gleeson, Charlie Murphy and Sarah Greene, horror movie A Dark Song, international children’s series Little Grey Fergie and a yet untitled movie set in Washington among many others. MovieExtras.ie members are used as extras and special extras in Ireland’s longest running soap Fair City, where an average 500,000 viewers tune in each day.

Derek Quinn, co-founder of MovieExtras.ie is very much looking forward to their annual open casting weekend “The agency has a multitude of diverse and exciting prospects for members in the coming year, including the hugely successful Ripper Street which we are thrilled to be partnering with once again. Productions are looking for people of all ages, looks, shapes and sizes – people who the general public can identify with. So our weekend is open to everyone!”

MoviesExtras.ie member Craig Boyle has had some incredible experiences “My first job was within two days of joining in May 2009, it was on the set of Raw and I had a featured part in the Restaurant as my birthday. This led on to Fair City where I’ve had six amazing years as an extra with featured roles such as The Hungry Pig Chef. People have recognised me from the show in pubs and whilst walking in Stephen’s Green which is so cool, who say’s extras are just background! Highlights would be playing a waiter on Quirke, I had a line with Gabriel Byrne and on Love/Hate, sitting beside John Boy when he got shot”.

Since the company was established in 2002, they have paid in excess of 10 million euro in fees to their members on over 1,200 productions. Over 800 companies and casting directors have access to the MovieExtras.ie members profile and can contact them for work as an extra, model, actor or for promotional work. Many famous stars began their career as an extra including Channing Tatum, Brad Pitt, Renee Zellweger and Ben Affleck.

All are welcome to attend the open casting weekend. The cost for an individual one year membership is €99.95 and for a special family package is €199.95 (for up to 6 members) and includes 3 professional photographs. Those who are unable to attend the Open Casting Weekend can register online at www.MovieExtras.ie.
