ScreenDaily is reporting that Carnaby International has the worldwide sales rights to Irish comedy Damo & Ivor: The Movie.

Damo & Ivor is the satirical comedy, which first appeared on YouTube and RTE’s Republic of Telly back in 2011, about the lives of identical twin brothers separated not long after birth.  One of the boys, Damo, is left to grow up on the mean streets of Dublin to be raised by his maternal Grandmother, Grano, while the other, Ivor, is given a life of wealth and luxury in Dublin’s affluent Foxrock by parents who shower their son with money and little else.

Andy Quirke reprises his roles as both Damo and Ivor while Ronan and Rob Burke (Standby), who directed the second series of Damo & Ivor, direct the feature. The film also stars Ruth McCabe (Philomena), Tina Kellegher (In The Name Of The Father) and Simon Delaney (The Conjuring 2).

Carnaby has been passionate about our film from the start and we are so excited to be working with them. We would love Damo & Ivor to reach as wide an audience as possible and Carnaby are the perfect company to make this happen. Ronan and Rob Burke. Directors

In the feature film Damo and Ivor embark on the mother of all adventures to find the last piece of their family puzzle and track down their long lost brother John Joe.  The adventure takes the brothers across Ireland where they discover that sometimes you can’t judge a book by its cover.

We are enormously excited to be bringing Damo & Ivor to market. Andy Quirke is an inspired comedic writer and this really translates on screen in this laugh-out-loud funny and heart-warming picture. Andrew Loveday, CEO – Carnaby International

The film is a co-production between Parallel Films and Blue Ink Films and is being produced by Ruth Carter and Andy Quirke with Alan Moloney as executive producer.  The film is being supported by the Irish Film Board, RTÉ and the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland.

Carnaby International has previous with Irish comedies, having worked on the sales of The Young Offenders last year. Damo & Ivor The Movie will be released in Irish cinemas in 2018 via Wildcard Distribution.
