Jamie Dornan and Sam Clafin to star in Borderland

#IrishFilm: Jamie Dornan and Sam Clafin to star in Brian Kirk’s Borderland

ScreenDaily is reporting that Northern Irish actor Jamie Dornan and British actor Sam Clafin have signed on to star in Brian Kirk’s Borderland, an action thriller based on the IRA and British intelligence.

When an IRA operative (Dornan) is dispatched to London to head a new unit and wreak havoc, he uses the move to hunt down the person responsible for the accidental lethal shooting of his wife – an SAS captain (Clafin) who happens to be hunting the Irishman.

Armagh-born Kirk (Game Of Thrones, Luther) will direct the film, which is based in 1970s London, from a script by Northern Irish writer Ronan Bennett (Public Enemies). The film will be produced by Alan Moloney from Parallel Film Productions, as well as Chris Coen for Unanimous Entertainment, and Rebecca Brown. The film has received a provisional offer of commitment from the Irish Film Board.

Production on Borderland is scheduled to take place this summer in Dublin and London. IMR International are selling the international rights at EFM this week, with CAA and UTA Independent Film Group representing the US rights.
