International Music + Sound Award

#IrishAbroad: Room nominated for 2016 International Music + Sound Award

Steve Fanagan and Niall Brady of Bray-based Ardmore Sound have been nominated for Best Sound Design – Feature Film at the 2016 International Music + Sound Awards, for their work on Lenny Abrahamson’s Room.

Johnnie Burn of London based Wave Studios was also nominated in the category for Irish co-production The Lobster, alongside Steve Bond for Nina Forever, Adam Scrivener for Roger Waters: The Wall, and Glen Gathard for Kill Your Friends. The category aims to recognise ‘creative use of sound and sound effects within a feature film’.

The full list of Room Sound Team credits includes Supervising Sound Editor Niall Brady, Sound Designer Steve Fanagan, Additional Sound Editor: Peter Blayney, Foley Artist Caoimhe Doyle, Foley Mixer Jean McGrath, and Sound Re-recording Mixers Steve Fanagan and Ken Galvin.

The Music+Sound Awards are the world’s first and only global awards programme to recognise and celebrate the indispensable role and outstanding contribution that both music and sound design play in the media.

Aimed at professionals working in advertising, film and television (branding and programming), the awards are open to anyone who is or has been involved in the creation, composition, sourcing, licensing, briefing and / or production of music and sound design for any visual media broadcast or released in the relevant territory.

The winners will be announced on Thurs 14th July.
