#IrishAbroad: Irish nominee for Done in 60 Seconds at the Jameson Empire Awards in London

Following a global campaign for entries to the Jameson Done in 60 Seconds competition, one Irish entry will be heading to Jameson Empire Awards in London this Sunday (March 20th). Roscommon based husband and wife team Michael Hourigan and Martina Larkin impressed  judges with their hilarious tea inspired parody Fifty Shades of Tae to secure them a nomination at the prestigious film event, hosted by David Walliams.

To take part in the competition, entrants were asked to distil an iconic movie down to 60 seconds of cinematic essentials. The Irish entrants were judged by an expert panel of judges including six time Oscar nominated director Jim Sheridan, actor Kevin Ryan and actor/author Eoin Macken, with one entry chosen to represent Ireland at the Global Jameson Done In 60 Seconds final in London. Four finalists were selected from Ireland, Poland, UK and Bulgaria to attend the star-studded Jameson Empire Awards where the 2016 Jameson Done in 60 Seconds Winner will be announced live on stage.
We were absolutely thrilled and over the moon when we got selected as Ireland’s entry in the competition, this is such a great springboard into the industry.
The overall winner on the night will then pack their bags for an all-expenses paid trip to LA to attend the prestigious Festival of Filmmaking. The winner and a friend will get the opportunity to rub shoulders with Hollywood royalty, take part in workshops and attend an exclusive masterclasses with industry experts.
