Variety is reporting that a number of companies have snapped up the international rights to Tobias Baumann’s Irish co-production Ghosthunters: On Icy Trails. The film is part of the Irish delegation currently selling at the Marché in Cannes.
The film, which is based on Cornelia Funke’s novel, tells the story of a young boy who discovers a green ghost living in his basement.
EOne has acquired the North American rights, with Altitude Distribution taking those for the UK; Transmission for Australia and New Zealand; Notorious for Italy; Gulf Film for the Middle East; New Guys for Israel; Medyavizyon for Turkey; Pratama Films for Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore; and Blitz for the Balkan countries.
Ghosthunters: On Icy Trails is produced by Lucky Bird Pictures in co-production with Ireland’s Ripple World Pictures, Warner Bros. Film Productions Germany, Lotus-Film, Immer Wieder Gerne Film and Satel Film.
