The British Independent Film Awards announced the winners of their craft awards, ahead of the main ceremony on Sunday December 2nd . Nine awards were handed out, with the Element Pictures-produced The Favourite winning five.
Yorgos Lanthimos’ awards-favourite picked up Best Cinematography for Dubliner Robbie Ryan, as well as Best Casting for Dixie Chassay, Best Costume Design for Sandy Powell, Best Make Up and Hair Design for Nadia Stacey, and Best Production Design for Fiona Crombie.
Lynne Ramsay’s You Were Never Really Here won two awards; Best Music for Jonny Greenwood and Best Sound for Paul Davies, while American Animals won Best Editing for Nick Fenton, Julian Hart and Chris Gill; and Early Man won of Best Effects for Howard Jones.
The winners of the remaining awards will be announced at the much anticipated British Independent Film Awards ceremony to be held on Sunday December 2nd in central London.
