Interview: Director Chad Stahelski talks John Wick Chapter 2

Director Chad Stahelski talks about his newest film, John Wick Chapter 2, which opens in Ireland on Friday, February 17th.

In this next chapter following the 2014 hit, legendary hit man John Wick (Keanu Reeves) is forced back out of retirement by a former associate plotting to seize control of a shadowy international assassins’ guild. Bound by a blood oath to help him, John travels to Rome where he squares off against some of the world’s deadliest killers.

John Wick Chapter 2 is directed by Stahelski (John Wick) and written by Derek Kolstad (John Wick, The Following). The movie stars Keanu Reeves (The Matrix) and features Common (Selma), Laurence Fishburne (The Matrix) and Riccardo Scamarcio (Burnt). The cast also includes Ruby Rose (Orange is the New Black), Lance Reddick (The Guest), John Leguizamo (Ice Age), and Ian McShane (Deadwood).

Director of photography is Dan Laustsen, DFF (Crimson Peak). Production designer is Kevin Kavanaugh (The Dark Knight Rises). Editor is Evan Schiff. Costume designer is Luca Mosca (John Wick). Music is composed by Tyler Bates (Guardians of the Galaxy) and Joel J. Richard. Music supervisor is John Houlihan. Visual Effects Supervisor is Paul Linden (Black Mass).
