Rebecca Daly’s critically acclaimed dramatic feature film Mammal starring Academy Award® nominated and Golden Globe® winning actress Rachel Griffiths (Six Feet Under) and ADIFF Discovery Award winner Barry Keoghan is an Irish actor from Summerhill in Dublin, best known for his roles in Dunkirk and The Killing of a Sacred Deer. (Love/Hate, ’71) opens in Irish cinemas on Friday, April 1st.

More in Smithfield will be hosting a special screening of the film on Saturday 2nd April at 18.00 which will be attended by the film’s director Rebecca Daly and star Barry Keoghan who will also take part in a post-screening Q&A with award-winning writer and director Oonagh Kearney. Keoghan’s and Griffiths’ performances have been praised by critics and audiences alike, and both have been nominated for IFTA Film and Drama awards.
The film also stars Michael McElhatton (Game of Thrones), Johnny Ward (Love/Hate) and Nika McGuigan (Philomena) Mammal is the compelling story of a woman (Griffiths) who has lost her son and develops an unorthodox relationship with a homeless youth (Keoghan). Their tentative trust is threatened by his involvement with a violent gang and the escalation of her ex-husband’s (McElhatton) grieving rage.
