Irish Actor: Brendan Gleeson to star opposite Diane Keaton in Hampstead

Irish national treasure, actor Brendan Gleeson, has signed on to star opposite Diane Keaton in Joel Hopkins’ Hampstead.

The film, which is set in, and will be filmed in, the eponymous leafy North London neighbourhood, sees Keaton play an American widow who witnesses Gleeson’s unkempt character attacked by a group of professional thugs on the edge of the famous Hampstead Heath. This leads her to seek him out and find out about the ruthless property investors who are trying to force him out of the area.

The film is based on a true story, adapted by Robert Festinger (In The Bedroom). Robert Bernstein and Douglas Rae of Ecosse Films produce, with Alison Thompson and Mark Gooder of Cornerstone Films handling worldwide sales. The project will be presenting to buyers at the American Film Market next month.

Hampstead will commence pre-production in early 2016.
