A sad end to a tragic figure, Corey Haim died today aged just 38.
The police report cited a drug overdose as the cause and that’s not at all surprising given the downward spiral that Haim’s life took following his rise to fame in the 1980s. A true poster child for the generation, Haim starred alongside fellow Corey (Feldman this time) in a string of classic 80s teen movies. The best of these of course, Lost Boys, starred another troubled soul in the guise of Keifer Sutherland.
It’s a real shame that Haim’s career and life took sucha turn considering his iconic place in the cinema of my youth. His most recent role was a bit part in the frankly awful Jason Statham starrer Crank: High Voltage, as well as appearances on reality tv.
As that forgotten Irish band The Thrills said (without a hint of irony) Whatever Happened to Corey Haim?
