The cast of Bad Teacher has taken a definite turn for the better with the addition today of Jason Segel and John Michael Higgins.
The movie, which is being written by Year One scribes Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky, definitely needed a pick-me-up and some comedic chops to add to the talents of the previously cast Cameron Diaz, whose last funny moment (aside from Shrek) was almost a decade ago.
The film sees Diaz play a “foul-mouthed, conniving seventh grade teacher” who sets her sights on the model teacher after her sugar daddy boyfriend gives her the old heave-ho.
I Love Man star Segel will play a gym teacher, with Higgins taking the role of Principal Wally Snur. No word yet on whose taking the lead male role but Lucy Punch is set to star as his girlfriend and potential rival to Diaz.
Filming starts next month in LA, with a summer 2011 release likely.
