The prestigious Digital Preservation Awards are a world-wide celebration of significant and state-of-the-art contributions to securing our digital legacy. This year the exciting process will culminate in a spectacular awards ceremony in Amsterdam, as part of an International Conference hosted by the Dutch Digital Heritage Network and the Amsterdam Museum on World Digital Preservation Day on Thursday 29th November 2018.
Finalists for The National Archives Award for Safeguarding the Digital Legacy are:
- IFI Open Source tools: IFIscripts/ Loopline project, IFI Irish Film Archive
- Cloud-Enabled Preservation of Life in the 20th Century White House, White House Historical Association Digital Library
- Design, Deliver, Embed: Establishing Digital Transfer in Parliament, UK Parliamentary Archives
- Local Authority Digital Preservation Consortium: Dorset History Centre, West Sussex Records Office, Wiltshire & Swindon History Centre
The judges also offered a special commendation to the GI Press Collection.
This award embodies the very essence of digital preservation. All three finalists have challenged threats to our digital estate and are saving important digital collections which might otherwise have been lost.
