Columbia Pictures have just launched an interactive trailer for David Fincher’s The Social Network, which is said to include around 40 little facts, with associated links to articles, soundbites and even videos.
I love interactive trailers as I believe that they offer a unique look at a movie that only the internet can give. Good ones can utilise the medium to transcend plain old video and offer some real feedback for the audience. And this one is a very good one indeed.
The film charts the early days of Facebook, and focuses predominately on co-founder Mark Zuckerberg (played by Jesse Eisenberg). The plot is loosely based on Ben Mezrich‘s book The Accidential Billionaires and is “A Tale of Sex, Money, Genius and Betrayal.” Better than that is the director and writer of the film Messrs. David Fincher and Aaron Sorkin. Both geniuses.
The Social Network is out October 15th.
Thanks to Slashfilm for the vid.
