Deadline is reporting that Imogen Poots and Jesse Eisenberg have signed on to star in Lorcan Finnegan’s new Irish thriller feature Vivarium.
The film focuses on a young couple who follow a strange estate agent into a new development to look at a house. The development is brand new but completely devoid of life, and when they attempt to leave they soon find that they can’t find their way out of the maze of houses.
Vivarium will be produced by Brendan McCarthy and John McDonnell for Fantastic Films, with Belgium’s Frakas Productions and Denmark’s PingPong Film as co-producers. XYZ are handling international sales at the upcoming Marché at the Cannes Film Festival and are executive producers on the film. It is financed by Irish Film Board, Wallimage, the Danish Film Institute and Eurimages, and developed with the support of the Creative Europe Media Programme of the European Union, Film4 and Frontières.
Lorcan Finnegan’s debut feature, Without Name, was funded under the IFB’s Catalyst Project and was released by Element Pictures Distribution in May of last year. Fantastic films are best known as the producers of acclaimed Irish genre films Let Us Prey, Wake Wood, Last Days on Mars, Muse, and Nails.
