Cinemagic has launched its search for a trainee film production crew for its second Feature Film Grace and Goliath. The young people, aged 18-25 will be given the chance to earn their first credit on a feature film and train alongside industry professionals led by director Tony Mitchell (The Bible, AD The Bible Continues, Primeval, Supervolcano and Flood).
Young filmmakers across all departments will have the chance to develop their talents and skills on the film, produced by Cinemagic Chief Executive, Joan Burney Keatings and written by Maire Campbell (Delicate Things, Chancer, A Christmas Star).
Grace and Goliath follows the success of Cinemagic’s first feature, A Christmas Star in 2014-15, which gave forty trainees an invaluable opportunity and all of which have gone on to work on various film and television productions in the last two years. A Christmas Star premiered in Belfast, New York and Los Angeles and was distributed worldwide.
Cinemagic is looking for committed, talented and creative young people who will gain unprecedented access to top film and television industry experts and prior to making the feature film this summer, the successful applicants will participate in a compulsory programme of intensive and practical training through masterclasses and workshops led by film mentors.
The opportunity will provide the young film-makers with an invaluable insight to all aspects of filmmaking and the essential skills required in each area. The young people will be assigned individual roles on the film crew.
For the film production crew all applicants must ensure they can be available from 15th May-27 June.
We are looking forward to embarking on Cinemagic’s second feature film and with support from Tourism Ireland, Creative Skillset and the Department for Communities we will be able to offer comprehensive training to develop young people’s talents and skills. We are looking for participants from all backgrounds to come together and work on a common goal to illustrate what can be achieved working as a team on this innovative initiative.
