Picturehouse Entertainment has secured UK distribution rights to Sophie Fiennes’ Irish-produced biopic of actor/singer/model Grace Jones, titled Grace Jones – The Musical Of My Life.
As part of the making of the documentary Irish producers Blinder Films have teamed up with Sligoville, u:mack and Mother to announce a unique performance by Grace Jones and her band at Dublin’s Olympia Theatre on September 21st, that will form part of the film.
The documentary is a collaboration between Jones and Fiennes, who first embarked on the project together in 2005.
Speaking on the film director Sophie Fiennes said:
This project with Grace has been an extraordinary journey ‘following the Yellow Brick Road’. We look forward to welcoming her audience to participate in our film and contributing to conjuring the Grace magic.
Grace Jones – The Musical of My Life is produced by Katie Holly for Blinder, as well as Sophie Fiennes and Shani Hinton in association with JW Films and financed by BBC Films and the BFI in association with Roads Entertainment and the TBA21 Foundation and with the participation of Bord Scannán na hÉireann / the Irish Film Board.
