Currently flying under the radar, as far as Irish co-productions go, is British director Paul Tanter’s Irish/US co-production The Fixer.
The film is an action-thriller set in Eastern Europe, that sees a young couple trapped in a siege that they must fight their way out of.
Shot in various locations across Dublin city over 5 weeks late last year, the film stars Amy Huberman (The Stag) and Tom Hopper (Black Sails) in the lead roles. Support comes from Nick Dunning (Alexander), Lacy Moore (Skunky Dog), Michelle Lehane (Maze), Conor Hegarty (13 Hours, Vikings), and Brian McGuinness (The Anti Love Pill).
The Fixer is produced by Rick Benattar and Nigel Thomas for Benattar / Thomas Productions, with Michael Taros Jr. for Tadross Media Group, Damiano Tucci for Parkside Pictures, and Barry Gordon and Michael Radiloff executive producers for XLrator Media. Tristan Orpen Lynch co-produces for Dublin-based Subotica Films. The film received financial support via Section 481, Ireland’s Film & TV Tax Credit.
The film was shot by Patrick Jordan (Stitches, The Young Offenders), with editing from Laurens Van Charante (The Last Patrol), and music from Theo Green (The Gambler). Casting was performed by Ali Coffey in Dublin.
The Fixer is currently in post-production and is expected to be released later this year.
