Last night saw the launch of the Limerick Film Festival Programme for 2015, which was witnessed by a large attendance from the local film making community in the mid-western city. The festival runs April 23rd to 25th.
Limerick Film Festival Director Simon McGuire kicked of the programme, speaking about the importance of the previous year’s Limerick City of Culture Film Legacy and the resulting short film production currently taking place in the city.
This years programme has many an inspiring guest speaker and screenings to look forward to, including Brendan McCarthy, co-author of the forthcoming Mad Max: Fury Road who will be speaking on Thursday April 23rd.
Renowned Irish film director, Kevin Liddy will be screening and discussing his newest Short Film, The Suffering Kind (Winner of the Spirit of IndieCork award last year) along with his previous masterpiece, Horse (1992), on Friday 24th April.
The final guest will be Irish composer, Patrick Cassidy whose most recent work includes the sound track to the award winning Calvary starring Brendan Gleeson, who will be speaking on Saturday 25th April.
All of these guests will speak in the Film Festival’s home of the Millennium Theatre at Limerick Institute of Technology.
