More good news on the Irish film front from Cannes as Niall Heery’s Gold has picked up North American distribution, with indie distributor Synergetic.
The film, which is set in Dublin, focuses on a man who when he learns that his father will soon die, attempts to find his ex-partner and teenage daughter so that he can see his grand-daughter one last time.
David Wilmot (Six Shooter) lleads, alongside Kerry Condon (This Must Be the Place), James Nesbitt (Bloody Sunday) and Maisie Williams from Game of Thrones.
The film, which is written by Brendan and Niall Heery, recently screened at the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival where it was well received.
Gold is produced by Irish production company Subotica Films, who previously gave us Song For a Raggy Boy and Perfect Sense, in association with Gloucester Place Films.
