Sony Classics has released another clip from John Krokidas’ Kill Your Darlings. You gotta love those poets.
The film is based on the true story of the murder of David Kammerer by Lucien Carr in 1944, which draws together the great poets of the beat generation: Allen Ginsberg, Jack Kerouac and William Burroughs.
Daniel Radcliffe stars as Ginsberg, with Ben Foster as Burroughs, Jack Huston as Kerouac, and Dane DeHaan as Carr. The film also stars Michael C. Hall, Elizabeth Olsen, David Cross, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Kyra Sedgwick.
Kill Your Darlings has been chosen as the closing film at this year’s Cork Film Festival on November 19th, with the rest of the country getting it on December 6th.
Kill Your Darlings is the previously untold story of murder that brought together a young Allen Ginsberg (Daniel Radcliffe), Jack Kerouac (Jack Huston) and William Burroughs (Ben Foster) at Columbia University in 1944, providing the spark that would lead to their Beat Revolution. This is the true story of friendship and murder that led to the birth of an entire generation.
