Irish Abroad: You’re Ugly Too heads to the Seville European Film Festival

The Seville European Film Festival has announced its lineup for the Europa Junior section, a programme aimed at younger viewers. A total of 13 films will be screened, all having their premiere in Spain and two of them having their international premiere. Ireland will be represented by Mark Noonan’s award-winning debut feature You’re Ugly Too. Director Noonan and star Aidan Gillan will attend the festival screening.

You’re Ugly Too stars Aiden Gillan and Lauren Kinsella, and focuses on a man who is released from prison on compassionate leave to care of his niece, after the death of her mother.

You’re Ugly Too was produced by John Keville and Conor Barry for Savage Productions and was filmed in counties Dublin and Offaly. The film was funded by Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board. It recently completed a successful cinematic run via Element Pictures Distribution, and will soon be released on DVD and VOD.

Other films playing in the Europa Junior section will be Microbe et Gasoil, Yoko y Sus Amigos, El Secreto de Amila, Albert, Molly Moon and the Incredible Book of Hypnotism, Phantom Boy, Bill, The Last Hammer Blow, Petting Zoo, Avril et le Monde Truque, Max & Lenny, and John From. The Seville European Film Festival runs November 6th to 14th.
