So Sony has finally announced the title of Marc Webb’s forthcoming reboot of their flagship franchise Spider-Man…and it’s going to be called The Amazing Spider-Man. Not much of a shocker that one, The Amazing Spider-Man is one of the many titles that Peter Parker’s web-slinging alter-ego has cropped up in over the decades. In addition to the new title Sony have also released an impressive new image of Andrew Garfield in full super-suited regalia. A high-definition blend of stark blues and vibrant reds it certainly looks impressive.

In addition to The Social Network star Garfield in the title role the film includes Easy A star Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, and Martin Sheen and Sally Field as Uncle Ben and Aunt May. The film is being entirely hot using 3D cameras meaning that the swing sequences should be pretty damn impressive.

The Amazing Spider-Man will swing into cinemas (sorry) on July 3rd, 2012.
