IFTA’s Ceremony to be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton, 5th April 2014

The Irish Film & Television Academy (IFTA) has announced that the 11th Annual Irish Film and Television Awards ceremony will take place on Saturday, 5th April 2014 at Dublin’s DoubleTree by Hilton Burlington Road, and will be broadcast live on RTÉ One at 9.35pm. Last year’s ceremony attracted a record audience of 1.24 million viewers.

Bringing the ceremony back to the newly refurbished hotel sees the IFTA’s return to their roots, having previously hosted four Awards Ceremonies at the Dublin 4 location on Burlington Road since 2003.

Speaking about the Ceremony, Aine Moriarty CEO of the Irish Film & Television Academy said: [quote]The Academy is excited to host the annual IFTA Awards Ceremony at the DoubleTree by Hilton Burlington Road, and to acknowledge and celebrate the great work and achievements of our home industry. Nominees and Guests really enjoy the great atmosphere of the round-table format and the DoubleTree by Hilton has something very special to offer in this brand new but familiar setting.
