Open air screening of Good Will Hunting to benefit Mental Health, Aug 16

To honour the memory of the late Robin Williams, and to raise awareness of mental illness, The Happenings, who host some of the finest cinema events in the capital, are hosting an open air screening of Gus van Sant’s Good Will Hunting. The screening takes place this Saturday, August 16th, in Fitzwilliam Square, Dublin.

Tickets are  €10 for anyone over 12 and €5 for under 12’s on the gate, with donations going to a mental health charity. Gates for the event open at 19:30, with the film starting at 21:30.

Per the Happenings “With the tragic passing of a true legend Robin Williams, we think its time to open up the conversation on mental health. There is no shame in seeking help, it only proves your strength. Please talk to someone. If you feel you can’t talk to friends and family, The Samaritans will take your call any time day or night on 116 123 or contact Piety http://www.pieta.ie/ ”

Like all Happenings events this is a Leave-No-Trace event. That means that the organisers will give you a plastic bag on your way in for all your rubbish (even cigarettes) and ask you to kindly bring it all the way home with you after the event.  Alcohol is permitted, but in moderation.

Food will also be provided on the night, by Irish Village Markets, Caryna’s Cakes and Vintage Flair. For more info hit up www.happenings.ie
